A new Working Group for the Kirklees Democracy Commission are overseeing our practical work to grow a stronger local democracy.
ADSO (the Association of Democratic Services Officers) have created a special award to acknowledge the Kirklees Democracy Commission’s “outstanding work in promoting local democracy.”
We want to create the conditions in which local democracy will thrive. This means starting with our citizens and with our sense of local identity – with the ground beneath our feet.

The Kirklees Democracy Commission’s draft report will be debated by all Kirklees councillors at a Full Council meeting on Wednesday 10th May 2017.
