The Commission
We have produced Terms of Reference for our work. Whilst this is quite a formal document, it’s really important as it sets out what we’re going to do and how we’re going to do it. Although our work will be far reaching, we need to make sure that we stay focussed and on track. Our Terms of Reference will help us do this.

The Working Group
The Kirklees Democracy Commission have now reported our findings. Our Growing a stronger local democracy report makes 48 recommendations for the future of our local democracy.
- Our draft report was discussed by Council on 10th May 2017.
- Our final report was launched on 30th June 2017.
- Our report was finally agreed by Council on 15th November
2017.
Council agreed that we should set up a cross-party working group of councillors to oversee the delivery of our future work. The first meeting of this group took place on 2nd March 2018, and we have agreed on these Terms of Reference:
