The Voice of the Councillor
Tuesday 13th February 2018, 10am to 3.30pm
Huddersfield Town Hall, Corporation St, Huddersfield HD1 2TA
This free event in Kirklees is an opportunity to discover, debate and learn about what councillors are doing nationwide to develop their roles and be catalysts for change in their communities. You’re welcome to come along to hear the findings of recent research, join in our best practice workshops and ask questions.
Members of the Councillor Commission will share the findings of their Voice of the Councillor report, based on the experiences of over 300 councillors. You’ll hear about the complex, challenging and changing role of councillor.
The Kirklees Democracy Commission will also share some of the findings from our landmark report: Growing a stronger local democracy, based on a year of evidence-gathering and debate in which over 1,000 people participated.
The Voice of the Councillor event is designed for councillors and local government officers, particularly those who are in roles such as community development, member development and democratic services. The event is also open to anyone who is interested.
