How can we best work together in Fieldhead?
Live or work in Fieldhead? You’re invited to take part a workshop…

How can we best work together to make our local places better?
Wednesday 19th June from 5.30pm to 9pm (at the latest)
Fieldhead Primary Academy, Charlotte Close, Birstall, Batley WF17 9BX
Arrival from 5.30pm for a light dinner. Refreshments available throughout
There are already lots of activities happening in Fieldhead that are showing how everyone can be part of making this an even better place to live. This workshop event is a chance for you to share stories about the very best of community spirit, and to help shape the future of the Fieldhead estate.
The evening will be hosted by a group of local organisations: Fieldhead School, Kirklees Community Association, Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, Fieldhead Tenants & Residents Association and Kirklees Council. Anyone in Fieldhead who has an interest in working together to make the places we live better is welcome to take part – including residents of any age, groups and organisations.
All you need to do is come prepared to share a story of when you have felt proud of being part of something – however big or small – in Fieldhead. We’ll all work together from there. It’s part of ongoing work to grow a stronger local democracy in Kirklees, from the ground up.
We’ll look for common themes in our stories, so we can better understand what helps people to have a stake in the place where they live. We’ll also talk about what we can do to enable more people to contribute to their local place.
What we learn will help us to create some principles that will guide the changing relationship between citizens and Kirklees Council. It’s a chance to say what we can do together to make sure that everyone can participate in thriving local communities.
