Growing Great Places
People make places great. Our towns, villages and communities are the strength of Kirklees. Local people have asked us to do more to recognise this.
So we’ve started Growing Great Places, a new community crowdfunding programme to support citizens and organisations who have great ideas for making our local places even better.
We launched Growing Great Places on 23rd May 2019. We’re pledging £50k of funding over the next year, plus advice and support to help you run a great crowdfunding campaign.
You might have a little idea that can have a big impact by bringing a place together. Or you might need some help growing support for an ambitious project that’s just getting started.
If you’re interested in finding out more, please come along to one of our free community crowdfunding workshops, hosted by our partners Spacehive, where you can:
- Learn about the programme and how you can get involved
- Hear about the funding available and the process to apply
- Learn about what makes a great crowdfunding project
- Get tips and advice on running a successful crowdfunding campaign
It’s part of our work to grow a stronger local democracy in Kirklees, from the ground up.
